GETTING THERE

Allow us to help you have a HASSLE FREE TRAVEL ADVENTURE TO SIARGAO.

Siargao is accessible by direct flights to/from Manila (around 1.5-2 hrs) / Cebu (40 minutes). This is the quickest option. Sayak Airport is a visual airport only and pilots need to see the runway miles ahead before they commit a landing. Having said that, during rainy season (around Nov-Feb) be prepared for flight cancellations when the visibility is poor.

A cheaper alternative is to book flights going to Surigao / Butuan and take a ferry from Surigao to Dapa Siargao (Dapa Port). If you decide to take the flight from Butuan/Siargao, TravellogPH offers a HASSLE FREE Round Trip Transfer Service and Accommodations (for late flights, the last ferry trip Siargao-Surigao is around 11:00AM-12:00NN Local Time.) from these airports and cities. An entry/exit via Butuan / Surigao is a perfect way if you wish to take our tours for Tinuy-an Falls and Enchanted River.

Once you arrive in Sayak Airport, you will need to take a Van going to the town of General Luna which is about 45 minutes away. General Luna is where most of the hotels, restaurants and the famous Cloud 9 are located. TravellogPH offers Hassle Free roundtrip airport/seaport-Hotel transfer service.

The Surigao-Dapa ferry takes around 2.5 hours and only available on the morning (earliest is 5:30AM local time). Dapa Port is 30 minutes away from General Luna.

GOING AROUND THE ISLAND

All of the tours we provide will pick you up and bring you back to your hotel / next destination within the island. Should you wish to move around the Island you can easily grab a tricycle and pay per passenger (night differential rates apply).

The cheapest alternative if you want to move around frequently after your tours is to rent a motorbike or rent a tricycle for 24 hours. Contact us anytime if you wish to rent a motorbike so it can be delivered/pickup to your doorstep.

MONEY MATTERS

There are only a few ATM Cash machines available on the Island and it would be advisable to bring CASH in Pesos before going to Siargao Island.

There is one ATM Machine available at the Airport after you exit the Arrival Hall, one in Del Carmen (town stop going to Sugba Lagoon) and a few ATM Machines in Dapa Town. Since Siargao is about 2.5 hours away from the nearest big city by boat, expect that the cash on ATM's sometimes may not be replenished promptly or there are problems with network connectivity.

There are money transfer services and currency exchange services available also on the island. Some restaurants accepts major credit cards (VISA/MASTERCARD). We do accept major credit cards (VISA/MASTERCARD) for bookings of our Tours and Accommodation packages in Siargao.

WHERE TO EAT

Mama`s Grill

One of the popular places where you can enjoy very good and savory yet cheap Filipino grilled meat/seafood dinner. They usually starts 6PM onwards and are usually full around 7PM so be sure to arrive there a few minutes past 6PM.

La Carinderia

They serve yummy Asian dishes with Italian twist and is located at the center of General Luna. You should try their Tuna Sisig if available. The restaurant is located beside Pink Lips where you can shop for nice shirts/tops, ref magnets while you wait for your dinner. You can also rent GoPro cameras at Pink Lips.

Bravo Resort

If you miss very good western style dishes (and western size servings), this is one of the place where we recommend you go to. The nice ambiance and the accommodating staff makes you feel at home (or sometimes better than home). We really enjoyed our coffee, dinner (I think it was a crispy chicken burger which happened to be their best seller), beer and desert at Bravo Resort.

Kermit

We never had a chance to dine in at Kermit and only were given take outs by our friends. They serve Italian food and the Pizza that we tried was really great!

Waffle House

Have a nice coffee break and enjoy their mouth watering waffles at this place. Situated beside the road near Reef Beach Resort gives you a more authentic Island Life coffee experience!

MEDICAL / SPECIAL NEEDS

Make sure to bring your medications with you good enough for your entire stay with some extra. Flights can be cancelled if the visibility is poor. Prescription medication for your Sugar/Heart/other ailments may not be readily available within Siargao.

If you are travelling with an infant, be sure to bring more than enough Formula Milk and/or medication.

COMMUNICATION / INTERNET / ELECTRONICS

If in case you need to work from time to time, it would be wise to bring your own mobile data from SMART and GLOBE. If in case one of the mobile company is weaker on your current spot, you can easily switch to the other mobile company.

There are dead spots on the Island specially on remote parts during tours. The good thing there is you can focus more on your vacation :)

There's no electronic stores in the Island itself (or probably we didn't see them). It would be advisable to bring in extra memory cards for your cameras and power banks.

In General Luna the electricity is 24/7 except when there are major power interruptions or repairs needed. Some hotels have their own power generator if in case the main power decides to take a vacation too :)
