Jomalig, a virgin island 140 KM East of Metro Manila, is a small fishing village blessed with fine golden sand, rows of pine trees and crystal clear blue waters. This small island (5,655 hectares), is a very popular hidden paradise among Filipinos.
Jomalig, or Humalig as it is locally known, is a small fishing town (5th class municipality). It has a small sea port and a small grass airstrip which can accommodate light aircraft. The airport was utilized by Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) to service an air navigation aid on the island.
This island was only accessible to tourists by land and open ocean travel (cheapest form of travel). From Manila you can take a van/bus to Real, Quezon (5 hours land travel depending on traffic). Then from Real, Quezon, you will have to ride a small outrigger boat for more 5 hours. The island is located on the Pacific Ocean side of the Philippines and boat travel time varies depending on the swells of the water.
